No Go Die Records was founded by DJ Slide (Jonathan Smith) in 2009, it began life as a podcast showcasing the best in Afrobeat, Funk, Dub, Broken Beats and a whole host of delectable electronica from like-minded beatsmiths worldwide. Now it is one of the few China-based labels to consistently push musical frontiers, bringing global artists into the Chinese music market, as well as hand-picking the best local talent to be showcased in the UK.

First digital releases are scheduled for late 2010, with physical releases following in early 2011.  Each new No Go Die track, album and artist reinforces the founding ethos – fusion between various musical influences. Sling a chunky reggae skank over a squelchy synthesised bass, hold it all held together with an insistent, marching afro rhythm and you’ve got the quintessential No Go Die sound.

Additionally, No Go Die offers a unique monthly foray into the Beijing nightlife scene, collaborating with local DJs, producers and musicians to bring a badly-needed spirit of diversity to the dance music scene in China. Expect to hear a musical melting pot that ranges from soulful to funky to downright dirty, remaining utterly danceable from start to finish.
